Coffee is necessarily not local in the Continental United States. All coffee that is drunk in New York City is grown at least 1,000 miles away. But, coffee drinkers can still try to be conscious of how they get their coffee, by supporting local roasters and distributors, and making sure that the coffee was grown in a responsible manner.
